The smoothest new-home fit-outs start before you even get the keys. Here's the carpentry checklist we give clients so nothing holds up your move-in.
Before you collect keys
- Get the floor plan and book a site measurement for handover day
- List which rooms need carpentry now vs later — phasing is fine
- Decide your must-haves: kitchen, wardrobes, shoe cabinet, TV wall
- Set a rough budget so the design can be planned to it
- Check the developer's defect-inspection and renovation rules and timeline
At handover / defect stage
Collect keys, do the defect inspection, and let us measure the actual unit — real walls are never exactly like the floor plan. This is also when to confirm power point and plumbing positions, because the cabinet layout depends on them.
Plan it as one design
Doing the whole home on one 3D design keeps the wood tones and handles consistent, and gets you one quote and one schedule instead of chasing separate suppliers. Even if you build in phases, planning it together means everything still matches when you add the next piece.
Sequence with your other trades
Carpentry usually comes after flooring and painting but needs to coordinate with electrical and plumbing. We'll sequence the build and install so it slots into your renovation timeline and you can move in on schedule.
